I’d like to direct your attention to this article in the Irish Examiner of 22nd June 2012:
in which the secretary general of the Department of Social Protection claims there’s no policy, unofficial or otherwise, to remove Domiciliary Care Allowance (DCA) from children with anASD diagnosis.
Now I will hold short of caller her a bare faced liar because I don’t want a slander suit; but she plainly fails to explain why so many children have been called for review and had the DCA withdrawn. Before the current economic cut backs no one that I know of was called for review and no one I know had the DCA withdrawn. So the current wave of DCA withdrawals is just something that’s happened out of the blue with no policy behind it. How stupid do the politicians think we are?
